In August and September of 2022, we began offering our Dream Work and Spiritual Direction Courses in a new virtual format. These online programs are not tied to the four-day in-person intensives at Kanuga, although the course content is the same.
The advantages of the virtual model are many: without travel, room, and board expenses, the cost of the whole program will be more affordable for some. And the cohorts have more time together and with their mentors. After almost a year of experience with this model we are finding that the sacred space and meaningful connections grow beautifully online. Virtual students will watch recordings of the lectures given at the in-person intensives, but asynchronously, at a more absorbable pace, with more time for conversation. Virtual students will have their own special sessions with faculty presenters for questions and discussion.
Here’s how it works:
Virtual groups meet every other week, during which cohorts meet with their mentors and/or faculty presenters for learning, discussion, dream groups, and verbatims. The virtual cohorts meet every other week – Dream Work groups on Tuesdays and Spiritual Direction groups on Wednesdays – from 3 pm to 6 pm Eastern time.
Between meetings, students watch the lectures, complete readings and reflection papers, and engage in creative and embodiment practices.
All recordings are live and are accessible for the entire two-year course. Throughout the course work there are workshops specifically designed for online students and those are presented live during the bi-weekly meetings.
The Courses begin with a weekend orientation session to introduce the course overview, the staff and mentors, as well as allowing the group members to get to know one another.
